The outpatient office of the surgery includes an ostomy centre specialised in patients with an ostomy (ileostomy, colostomy and urostomy). The centre’s activities include consultations, education and practical training of caring for the ostomy, together with choosing the most suitable device for the client. Furthermore, we provide information about nursing care related to the establishment and caring for the ostomy – before the surgery, after the surgery during hospitalisation and also after the patient is discharged – to the clients themselves and their family members including the prescription of the devices.
The ostomy consulting centre is intended primarily for IKEM patients with an established ostomy.
