In addition to organ transplantation, transplant surgery can also offer the transplantation of vascular grafts. This intervention is done in patients indicated for bypass surgery in the limbs who do not have their own vessel suitable for such a procedure and in whom the use of an artificial material is not advisable. The indication criteria for this procedure are usually fulfilled only by patients with an immediately threatening limb amputation or patients with an infection of the artificial vessel.
