The mission of the Laboratory Methods Division (LMD) is to provide routine and specialised laboratory diagnostic assessments in clinical biochemistry, haematology, immunology and microbiology, and to perform research, experimental and pedagogical activities in these fields.
The division comprises specialised laboratories, outpatient offices and also the Autotransfusion Unit that prepares selected autologous and homologous blood products and the Czech Registry of Haematopoietic Stem Cell Donors.
Above all, the division performs analyses of biological materials collected at clinical departments.
Specialised units of the LMD also provide consulting services in their respective fields of specialisation, develop and introduce new diagnostic methods and procedures. LMD responds to new knowledge, and taking into account the capabilities of the system, it includes new tests in its repertoire.
Care quality is guaranteed by a highly qualified team of employees and by the necessary instrumental equipment from primary world manufacturers of healthcare technical devices.
DLM is accredited for specialised education in clinical biochemistry, medical microbiology, allergology and clinical immunology and in the field of laboratory and examination methods in medicine approved by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
Closely cooperates with other specialised research laboratories of IKEM and is the seat of the Subdepartment of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of IPVZ (Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education).
Although most members of our team remain anonymous, the results of our work considerably contribute to the care of patient health.
