For patients of IKEM departments, the physiotherapists provide pre-operative and post-operative care to prevent deconditioning of the patients, thromboembolic disease with respiratory complications (including early verticalisation of patients), and we give instructions for individual therapeutic education. In particular, the provision of good-quality respiratory physiotherapy is emphasised.
At the Diabetology Department, our physiotherapists provide exercise programmes during educational stays of diabetic patients motivated to continue their physical activity at home.
For patients of the departments, our doctors provide consulting care, they recommend and negotiate with health insurance companies suitable aids – walking aids, mechanical chairs, aids for the toilet and bathroom, primary prosthetic equipment, orthoses and antidecubital aids.
The unit is involved in educational programmes, training events – short-term and long-term stays of physiotherapists and training of diabetic nurses.
