Transplantation Laboratory (TL)

The Transplantation Laboratory was established in 2000 as a division of the Transplantation Centre, later attached to the Experimental Medicine Division.

Research activities 

The main scope of activities of the laboratory consists in the research of effects of pro-inflammatory gene expression in tissues and exploration of the effects of other genetic factors on the fate of transplanted kidneys. Laboratory activities are covered from the resources of the Research Plan of IKEM, grants of the Internal Grant Agency of the Ministry of Health and the 6th Framework Programme of the EU. The laboratory has modern equipment and currently, its staff includes 4 university degree holders in the scope of their postgraduate study in biomedicine. Results of the laboratory are presented at world transplantology forums and are published in foreign journals.
