Research activities
Activities of the laboratory are focused on the genetics of cholestatic liver diseases, on the research of hereditary factors responsible for sensitivity to the development of alcoholic hepatopathy and on the research of methods for early diagnosis of liver fibrosis. The first cases of progressive intrahepatic type 2 cholestasis and benign recurrent intrahepatic type 2 cholestasis were captured in the scope of the project focused on the genetics of cholestatic diseases. Furthermore, the very first case of dual-gene congenital hyperbilirubinemia, called dual hereditary jaundice, was captured, characterised and published.
