Computed tomography
Assessments performed using a computed tomography (CT) machine started to be done at IKEM at the end of 1994. Since then, it has become an integral part of the diagnostic system for patients of IKEM (cardiovascular programme, transplantation programme) as well as for patients from the surrounding hospitals of Prague, and recently also from hospitals outside Prague.
Our site has the SIEMENS Somatom Definition Flash CT instrument, currently one of the most advanced devices of its type in the Czech Republic, enabling us to perform a broad spectrum of assessments and procedures in accordance with the most recent knowledge and experience of medicine.
The staff take an active and passive part in national as well as foreign symposia and cooperates in systematic education of the medical personnel.
Magnetic resonance imaging
The site of magnetic resonance imaging has the Siemens Magnetom Avanto 1.5 T and Siemens Magnetom Trio 3 T full-body MRI tomographs. The instruments are intended for MRI diagnostic procedures and for clinical research.
The site performs assessments focused on neuroradiological diagnosis, diseases of the movement apparatus, abdominal parenchymal organs and the cardiovascular system. (MRI – angiography, MRI – myocardium).
